Yesterday I went to a clinic for the school dance team! The actuall tryouts are today and we just practiced skills yesterday and learned the dance. I got a headache halfway through because the teacher had us run the dance 7 whole times without a water break! Also it's SUPER hot in the gym because it's such an old building there isn't even air conditioning in the gym!
So I was sweating buckets and it was super gross because so was everyone else. I wore my hair down just pulled out of my face and yeah that was a mistake haha...
My advice to you if you are trying out for the dance team is drink lots of water before you even get there, and wear your hair off your neck and back! Also make a friend or find a friend you already know so you aren't doing a kick line with a total stranger. And bring some sort of videoing device because at least for me they let us record last years 8th graders doing the dance and some of the other skills.
Anyway... I don't know if I even want to make the team because it caused the literal worst headache I've ever had in my whole 12 years of living. But that was a 2 and a half hour class with over double the people in the room than normal. Plus we only had an hour to learn a dance when we'd normally have a bit longer. Hopefully... :D.
I haven't done much work on the book because I've been preparing for tryouts. Hopefully I'll get back to it soon but I still have to DIY my school supplies and put my stuff in my locker and possibly if I make the dance team have a dance camp thing to go to.
For some reason my arm hurts. I don't know why though. It's not even the arm that I hit on my knee every time we run the dance...
Anyway, I'm going to go practice my routine, specialty leap, leap/turn combination, and double pirouette. And also try to memorize the lyrics to the song the routine is too which I use instead of counts. That's probably a really bad and unreliable way to do it but that's how I do it lol.
